Isn't Aikido AWESOME? I have used mine several times at work (I teach in an inner city high school) and I, too, have found it to be of great help in IDPA competitions. Helps with balance.
Listen, you might want to re-think the idea of having a compensated gun for CCW. What happens if you have to shoot from retention (close to the chest and high) or if you have to shoot inside your vehicle (not an army vehicle, but your POV) in a carjack situation? In both cases you are liable to catch a face full of hot gas and particulate matter. It could even cause permanent damage. Also, comp guns are extremely L-O-U-D.

Jump right in and welcome.
Pheasant are fairly thick in the south west part of the state. I'll try to remember to record the grids when I see them (hope MGRS works for you). I haven't been looking for quail.
Aikido is awesome. Now I can get into fights without killing people. It's easier to open doors, mow the lawn, and I can do the limbo better than anyone in a 50 mile radius. About a year or so ago I was discussing the natural lay of the gun after class with another student. During my demonstration Sensei inturupted, "you just did a perfect Tenkan, why can't you do that on the mat?"
First I've heard of the issue with compensated models but it does make sense. I got it because I didn't like the abruptness of the standard model. I admit I may have neglected my alternate shooting positions. Worst case, I can change out the barrel. Until then, there's always the 1911 (which may require a fashion makeover)
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome Daddy Warcrimes,
I noticed you still use a "C" and not "K" to spell California! I live in "North California" (Butte Co.)....quite a "different realm" compared
to the "Other" parts of the state. Ever heard of the "State Of Jefferson"? Check it out. Have fun with the forum!!
When you ever get the chance.....
thank a VET!!!!
