Never look down on anybody, unless you're helping them up.
Your desire to freely exercise your inherent and unalienable Right to keep and bear Arms, a Right which shall not be infringed, is a peaceful and legal action which does not need to be "justified" to anyone.

When camping you already can carry. Carrying cash is a great reason, but for business purposes it is not, that gets into the bodyguard zone, different training and big insurance i think.
Read ALL of this page, Concealed Firearm Carry Permit in California: Information Database and both links at "See also" near the top of the page. Then you will have better questions. My primary reason is that I am a "picker" and visit bad looking places with cash, as a hobby, not a business. I bought a nice car with cash in a Sacramento parking lot Monday, that .45 made the transaction safer. Secondary reason, since these people who have decent junk know i carry cash, that puts me at risk everywhere else. Third reason, the Sheriff knows I am not nice to criminals and junkies . Have at least two valid reasons. Make certain that you don't miss any part of your past contact with law enforcement when you fill out the "have you comitted any crimes" section, I had to run a voluntary "live scan" before the official one to be sure to be accurate. Good luck. Like any Valley town, there are some pretty messed up parts of Bakersfield, but i always try to time it so I can eat the Noriega Hotel's Basque dinner
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Thank everybody for all the good advice. We have two local instructors that are amazing at gauging people and helping the good people getting their CCW. I have a few basic reasons as to why i want it, unfortunetly "to keep my family safe" isnt a good enough reason. There are loopholes, i just have to find the right one to jump through. Keep the advice coming everybody, thank you again!
