Hello from Alaska! I'm jealous of your weather, sometimes, but not of your gun laws :) I'm glad to hear your county is more tolerant of law abiding ownership, and hope you enjoy the forums as much as I have.

We should not forget that the spark which ignited the American Revolution was caused by the British attempt to confiscate the firearms of the colonists. -

Thank you again everybody. My app should be filled out this weekend, and i will let you know the outcome. I am still in the hunt for a subcompact, CCW or not.
From a fellow Valley resident (Fresno) I'm sure your application will go fine. My advice would be to leave out the info about travel in a company vehicle. That will only slow/complicate things as your company will have to then sign off on thier approval of that. I would research company policy before you carry in a vechical so you know where you stand and what needs to be done to ballance your safety and job security but there is no need to slow down an already lengthy process.
My good cause was travel with the family on the weekends. If your sheriff is liberal in handing out CCW's and conservative in politics there should be no problem.
BTW PM me if your interested in a nice barely broke in Kahr PM9 with crimson trace laser grip and night sights with holsters I have setting in the safe. I've found my M&P compact is small enough for my needs. Being as we're not to far away maybe a deal can be made if your interested. Best of luck.

If you intend to start going to a lot of estate sales and antique auctions that will give you a good reason to carry larger amounts of cash.

I don't see why you should have to go any further than stating personal protection as your justification to carry.
