Welcome aboard Ma'am. You chose a nice pistol for your carry gun. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Welcome to the forum. I have the LCR in .357. It's a great little revolver. The recoil is not too bad...even with the full .357 load. I prefer to shoot .38 out of it though.

Ha ha Judy, wasn't being a smartXXX just couldn't figure out the "professional" part. I bought the LCR for every day carry but once the better half
shot it I had to wrestle it away from her. I could almost bet you'll like it. Hope you got one with the XS sights. It's finally quit rainy here in sunny SC
    but freezing cold !
Be sure and give us a range report when you get the chance.

"Our" LCR .38Sp is the one at the bottom.

My wife carries the exact same weapon. She likes it and she has become very good with it. Congratulations.

Hello, JudyGun, and welcome from Missouri to a really great forum. Good people and info here! You and your husband have some good ideas; and thanks to your husband for his service from a fellow Viet Nam era veteran.

Since you are new to this handgun, self defense arena, taking some good self defense classes is a great idea. I also recommend you check out the many free YouTube videos made by Massad Ayoob, a world-class instructor in handgun use and self defense, who has recorded training sessions in Judicious Use of Force, Shoot to Live, Home Invasion, Preparation for Home Defense, and What to Do After a Shooting. Just Google his name and these topics and the YouTubes should show up. Very good instructional information from an expert, and free.

Here is a very good technical review of self defense ammo for when you are ready to consider this:
Best Choices for Self Defense Ammo

    Best wishes to you both!

    New Lady to Guns!

Going to many gun stores & ranges with my husband. I'm asking a bunch of questions so I will decide where I feel more comfortable taking the concealed weapons class. There is more stuff to absorb than I realized. Wish we had gotten to into this more seriously years ago.
