Fellow cheesehead here. What does OWL mean? If it is operating without a license, I don't think that is considered a criminal offense. From what I've gleaned from my cc classes, military personnel were exempt from taking the classes. Just provide your discharge papers. You can check that out. That last is, if you have successfully purchased a handgun through an FFL recently, then you are probably good to go since both areas are doing the same background checks. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! That said, contact an attorney about that question.

go to this link: Simple Case Search this is the criminal lookup for Wisonsin. It will tell you if the case is a criminal case or not. Most first offense OWI cases are not considered criminal, just maybe a bit dumb. People make mistakes. This is relevant only if the OWI occurred in Wisconsin. If it happened in another state, you'll have to check with that state to see if it's a criminal case or not.

This past week I have been reading up on the laws here in Arkansas and as I am taking my concealed class this weekend. I did notice that a DWI (Driving while intoxicated) will disqualify you for a several years here in Arkansas. I don't know if Wisconsin has a similar rule but I would suspect that they do. How long has it been since your offense? You should be able to go to your State Police website and get an explenation. I found lots of info on our site.
