Hello everyone, Am I the only one from Upstate NY
I have just returned from the mailbox only NOT to find my CCW that I applied for on March 28th 2012. With all the shooting recently, the judges are most likely sitting on the apps. This is very frustrating seeing I have a M&P40 sitting in the gun shop well over 6 months now. I'm envious of everyone out there living in other states when you can get your permits in half the time as NY.

I'm FROM upstate NY, but the key word is from. I really love NY but refuse to live there. Your little town of Fairport is a great little town. I'm from Stone Ridge in Ulster county, further down state, in the Catskills. I'm now in Florida for 28 years and still think of the times I had in NY as a kid. What a shame that politics has destroyed a wonderful place to live.
P.S. Welcome to the board!!

Welcome from S.E. Wisconsin which until last year was very anti-CCL and anti-gun. I say was because in the last year or so the elections changed things. Just sayin'

Welcome from Wisconsin! You must have to have a lot of patience living there. I got my CCL in 8 days from the day I ,mailed it. I was surprised at the service but I hear that some have even gotten them sooner. What do you think is the holdup? Or is that normal in NY?

Upstate ny here. Yes still here.
Erie and Monroe counties are averaging a year and a half wait times. Now with everything going on I'm not sure.
Glad I got mine over 10 years ago. Although after last week what's the point? They better over turn everything.

The county clerk say that 8 months is the norman but now of the lastest events especially in Webster which is 8 miles from my house, the judges are most likely taking their time with the apps. I retired with 25 years in the Army reserves with a security clearance and still I'm waiting almost 10 months.
