    The problem I see with your letter is that you are using logic and common sense, both are banned in most political offices.

    Great letter, I think it touches on the two most important thoughts on gun control. First, the proposed laws won't do a thing to prevent violence, they will only restrict the law abiding citizens. They only make it seem like our leaders are doing something to protect us. Second, enforce existing laws to the maximum extent of the law. Several years ago Virginia ran adds that said if you use a gun while committing a crime an additional five years would automatically be added to your sentence. I don't know if it reduced crime, but it did reduce the use of guns in those crimes.
