You need to check your state laws and what might be legal if you have a conceal permit may not be legal without. Take a look at the link for some guidelines. State Knife Carry and Blade Length Laws

...legal to own, but not to carry in Texas, under state law...a knife with two sharp edges has long been construed as being a dagger...forbidden in the law...
...welcome to the Forum...we ALL need help with Texas' vague and varied knife laws...

Congrats on the knife, and welcome to the forum
Texas has weird knife laws. A city can pass what they want, like San Antonio. The years I spent dealing with the public,I heard cops,in casual conversation, give all types of opinions when it came to knives. I do not carry assisted opening knives because my gut tells me there are plenty of cops that would call them a switchblade. They are not,but do I want to argue the point at roadside while they call back up for his/her opinion? If a D.A. were to snap one open in court, what would the average juror think? IMO,it is better to carry an 'average' type of knife,if you want to carry one. The person holding the knife is far more important than the knife.

...our good Governor has specifically dealt with this situation by signing a law...if I had one and carried it, I might keep a copy handy...and present it respectfully should the below situation come up...our public servants in Texas are a cut above many others and I wouldn't fear carrying within the clearly written law...
