    New member from Mississippi

    A shout out from Mississippi since we seem to have one of the best carry permit options after they passed the enhanced language in 2011. Had a permit in another state with the typical laundry list of excluded locales which in effect makes a carry permit less useful if you have to tell the criminal to wait until you get to your car before they can attack you. The new language after taking a typical firearms training course removes most of the excluded locations including the posting provision. At worst if you are discovered they ask you to leave but no automatic misdemeanor.

    Permitless carry of a loaded weapon in a vehicle is another positive in this state since they consider it an extension of your home...for those that don't feel the need to go the permit route.

    Hopefully the state house and senate will stop bickering and pass some of the pro-gun legislation. Several good bills died in committee or were killed with procedural maneuvers. This is the first time in ages when repubs have had both houses yet they insist on internal bickering rather than passing common-sense legislation. The more things change the more they stay the same....
