My wife and I just applied for ccw permits in NE Ohio and are patiently waiting to receive them. I have been reading through the forums on this site for a while now and absolutely love the knowledge and content available here. I figured it was about time to jump in with both feet. I'm a habitual forum reader and not poster so we'll have to see if that changes. I'll give a little of my background. I grew up in Northwest Oklahoma and have never been a stranger to firearms. Most of my experience in my early years was with long guns. Hunting and trap shooting mostly. Some of my favorite memories are from my teen years shooting bullfrogs with my dads single shot .22. Of course I've gigged em but the .22 worked nice too. After attending college and then eventually moving to a big city I strayed away from firearms mainly because I didn't have the convenient opportunities I did growing up on 20 acres in Oklahoma. However in the past year I reunited with an old passion and purchased a Glock 17 to keep in a drawer safe for home protection. I had to wait for the green light from my wife which took a while. However the more and more stories she heard about people defending themselves and their families the more she saw a need for it. Needless to say she caught the fever and now we both are getting our ccw's and planning to carry as often as possible. She picked out her own gun and settled on the Beretta Nano. My carry gun for now is going to be the Ruger LC9. Thanks again for such a great site and I look forward to spending some of time away from the range hear at the forums.
