Smile New to concealed carry and this forum!

Hello ladies and gents, just registered after months of reading the forums - lots of comprehensive information here! I don't have extensive knowledge of guns or concealed carry for that matter but I plan on doing my research and learning the ropes here. I am only twenty years old so I have a few months to wait before I can rightfully apply for my concealed carry here in NC. I am planning on buying the Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm as well as the Smith and Wesson Shield as my carry weapons but I am going to try them out at the range first this weekend to see how they feel. I am also considering the Old Faithful holsters (they have an awesome guarantee!).

On a side note, I am a full-time student and web designer. I've loved guns for as long as I can remember and I probably will the rest of my life.

I already love this place with the strict rules and great attitudes, hope I can participate and add to the discussions here!

Welcome. Glad you mentioned you were going to try them out before buying. Many $ have gone down the drain by buying first

Besides trying them out you need to set up a training and practice program. As you read more in this forum you will find training and practice are a common theme -- especially considering you don't appear to have much experience.

    Good luck and keep reading.

Welcome from Memphis. And may I be the first to say Happy Early Birthday.

Welcome from Phila. Pa. The m&p 9c is my EDC and I'm 100% satisfied. Great firearm! I carry in a Crossbreed Super Tuck. on an ARES Ranger nylon belt. Perfect for me.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, I definitely have to try it before I buy it. I've shot handguns once previously (a 357 and a .22 target pistol) and it's amazing the different perspective and respect I had after I was done at the range. It only made me want to continue practicing and further my expierence and knowledge with them.

Appreciate it! And yes, this year my 21st birthday will prove to be the best one yet (for multiple reasons).

Love hearing that! It is such a beautiful gun to me and it seems extremely reliable and affordable. I'll be trying out a few different firearms but I'm pretty sure I am going to settle with the M&P.

    Thanks!

Well I read through the rules and they seem very thorough and explicit in what is permissible here, so I count those as strict rules. Now whether those rules are enforced or not is a different story - but no worries, they won't have any problems with me ;)
