    New guy on board

I have been lurking for a few days, and I have to say there are a lot of knowledgeable members on this forum with plenty of good advice. I am not a big poster on any forums, I will add where I can, I am jack of all trades master of none kind of guy. I'm also an NRA pistol instructor, rifle coach and RSO for my gun club. Firearms is my passion in life, and I spend a lot of time teaching others how to safely handle them, and dispelling myths about them. Its never been more important to do that than right now imho.

    Thanks, Steve

To the OP: Thanks for posting. Given your experience I'm sure you have a lot to offer so I look forward to your opinions. I'm also an RSO and instructor and I see a lot of unsafe gun handling on our various ranges (shotgun, pistol, rifle) even among experienced gun owners. I hope no one takes offense to this, but I've seen safety infractions even by LEOs and former military. I'm not sure if their training differs but I've spoken to an LEO about muzzling his girlfriend with his AR-15 while getting it back into the case (at the firing line--not the safe area) and a former marine for walking from point to point in the range with a loaded and chamber semi-automatic shotgun. One can never be too safe IMHO.
