Welcome! Keep track of our state legislators as they make changes for us CCW folks allowing us to carry in more places.

I know right! It made it through the house and passed the 1st reading in the Senate. For some reason it was sent to the Committee on Rules & Operations of the Senate, and it does not appear that anything has been done with it since 5/8.

I so hope it goes through as my main reason for a handgun & CCW was to be able to take it to work with me (I work in a really bad neighborhood). I knew I would not be able to take it into the building, but had planned to leave it in my car. Once I attended CCW class, I was informed that is not allowed. Of all the places I can imagine myself ever needing it, it would be on my drive to work every night. Patiently, or not so patiently awaiting that outcome!

I wasn't familiar with "standard procedure", so I started looking back at bills from last year and the step of going to the Committee on Rules and Operations appears to be the typical route and it takes anywhere from a week to a year to then make it to the floor for the Senate vote. Everything depends on timing, schedules, etc. It'll get up for a vote soon, just a matter of the Senate schedule. Just wish they'd hurry up with it. ;-)
