I have a SOCOM-16 and I like it very much. Zero problems so far.
I've put about 850rounds through it and not one failure. I did take
the time to break in the bore (the Shilen method). I also have
kept up with lubrication, you only get one shot to break in a rifle
properly. I normally keep my firearms on the dry side when I lube
because up here in North California it can get quite dusty during the
summer. So far the accuracy of the Socom looms around the 2"
mark at 100yds. Presently I have been working with Hornady TAP
110 grn. personal defense ammo. Nice low recoil still groups around
2". I will be trying this ammo in low light conditions to see if it lives
up to it's claims to be low flash. Talk to you later! M.M.
