    New and new again

    Hey there.

I'm new but not so new. I was here about a year ago and forgot my login info since then, so made up a new one. So here I am again.
Anyway, I own several guns, a LC9, Bersa .380, SP-101, and several long guns. But right now I'm thinking I'll buy me a little NAA .22 magnum.
There are a lot of times that I don't bother to pick up the LC9 and take it with me when there have been times in the past that I would have liked to have something available. Once I faced down a mildly drunk guy by putting my hand behind my back and smiling at him. He thought I had a gun, but actually I was going to swing at him when he got close enough. It worked in my favor and he decided to leave instead of calling the bluff. There was another time in a McDonalds that a young black guy started brandishing a gun (I think trying to impress a girl behind the counter) and I had to just hope for the best. Somebody called the cops or at least threatened to and the guy left, so that turned out ok. I didn't have to move from my table.
So I've been thinking that to have anything, even if it's bare minimum, is better than nothing at all. And this is mostly a summer dress problem rather than just not wanting to carry. I do have a ccw permit btw. I've called dealers within 50 miles and nobody has the naa sidewinder, which is the one I really want, but at over $100 higher than the regular .22M I'm not really sure it's worth the difference for the use of the gun.

Welcome to the forum from Virginia.....again.

In neither of the cases you mentioned would the NAA .22 Mag done you much good. In the first instance, if the guy wasn't armed, you would have had no justification to pull it. In the second, unless your right up on top of the person, the gun you mentioned is almost worthless. Lack of accuracy and lack of muzzle velocity work against you.

I agree with archer, a 642, in your pocket is a better alternative light an the .38 is a potent round an mine is very accurate out to 20, 25 feet which is all you need in most cases
