New Guy from South Florida
I put trigger locks on my firearms about 32 years ago when my wife and I began our family. Never really gave it alot of thought after that until my West Point graduate, 1LT Airborne Ranger son emailed that he was coming back from Afghanistan & had purchased an OEF 2012 82nd Airborne commemorative Sig Sauer .40 cal. I suggested that he bring it home with him & that we would take it to the range. He was all in so I dusted off my old Browning Hi Power & off we went. My appreciation of and for shooting was immediately re-ignited. I've since purchased a sweet machine that I think of as the grandson of the Hi Power... the FNH FNX-9. The DNA linking the two is, of course, John Browning.
My shooting enthusiasm has been gaining speed and so has this crazy world that we all live in & so, I had to get a CCW license. I went to the Regional office of the FL Dept of Agriculture in West Palm Beach where they take care of everything during one appointment. Submit your DD-214 and a personal check, complete the application & they take your finger prints and picture digitally. They told me that Florida statute allowed the Department 90 days to get my license to me. I applied on a Monday ((this month (September)) and they issued the license three days later on Thursday. The license was in my mailbox the following Monday. I was impressed with the timing.
My current focus is finding a holster that will work for me and my lifestyle. I also want to be responsible and informed while exercising my licensed privilege to carry a firearm. I can only imagine that this forum will provide significanat insight into both areas.
Glad to be a part of your group.

Welcome! Congratulations on your new CCWL. Lots of threads already here on holsters, so have fun checking them out. If you find a non current one that you want to add to it'll be reactivated - but I'm sure you already know that. This is a great place to "be".

Talking to each other here is good, but taking action is better.
Wow Florida sure has their poop together spitting out a first CCW permit. When I got mine back in '85-86 it took around 6 weeks.
Welcome to the Forums. Lots of great folks here from down Florida way.
Welcome from the PRM and welcome to the club.....
Welcome from South Carolina. Unfortunately, I can't recommend any holsters for the FNH FNX-9 as I don't own one. I'd be highly surprised if somebody who owns one didn't come around soon who could help you, though.
I sure wish SC would move that quickly. It's about 100 days wait here..
