Greetings from new member in WI

    Greetings from west central/northwestern WI.

I am glad to see that a place like this is a reality in the internet world today.

I am in the process of obtaining my CCW permit and have been searching for places like this for advice on style/type of weapons to use. I decided to seek to obtain my permit due to some dangers that have come about recently in the area that I live and work. The protection and safety of my family and myself must come first!

I currently have a Sig Arms P2340 that I will soon be trading or selling outright in order to obtain a smaller and more effective CCW weapon. The gun is a little to big to carry concealed and newer models are now out and about.

Prior to the Sig Arms I owned a sub-compact glock .45 caliber (do not recall the model #) only that it was smallet and thin compared to other glocks. Prior to that my first handgun was a S&W SD40. I purchased that as I was told that it was a very effective cost alternative to a glock .40 cal. I got rid of it as I could not hit the broad side of a barn with it!

I look forward to the comments, suggestions, and insight people can offer me here.

    See you around the forums.

Welcome from Western IL! This site and the people on it are great. A LOT of knowledge and wisdom to glean from these folks. As far as a new CCW, I just purchased a Bersa BP9CC after doing a lot of research. It's thin, light, holds 8+1 of 9mm and has a ton of great reviews. Give it a look!

Welcome to the forum. Lots to be learned here. Tons of older threads with even "more tons" of information on them. Having fun looking around and feel free to ask questions. The rest of us do.

    Welcome from Milwaukee!

I had a Glock 21 & a Glock23. Both fine pistols. I gave them to my LEO son when I retired from armed security & before we had a concealed carry law. Then I got a Sigma SW40VE because that's all I could afford when I got my CCL. I sold that to my neighbor because he really wanted it. It was a good shooter. Now I have a used 4 year old full size M&P40 that saw police service & just recently got the compact version, the M&P40C. Wow! Very nice weapons! I can successfully conceal both.
