I am a newb to having my CHL but must say Hamilton county gets an A+for the 48 hour turnaround. Got the call at 8a.m. this morning and applied on monday. Any tips? Is it normal to be self conscious for a while?

A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.

It's normal to feel self-conscious the first few times you carry. It goes away soon when you find that people don't scream "gun!" every time you walk by. Just concentrate on concealing well, especially if your state forbids printing. Don't bring attention to yourself by constantly feeling for your gun & readjusting it.

Hi from Nashville. Well, now its time for some training.
Those here can help recommend holsters & equipment, but they will also cover that in a good training course, and the course might well save you money & aggravation by allowing you to buy once, instead of a number of times trying to find the right thing.
Howdy from Dayton. The self consciousness will subside once you realize that carrying concealed nobody gives you a second look.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Yes, it is very normal to feel self conscious at first. In fact, after many years of concealed carry there are still a few times when I feel "very aware" that I am carrying. This sometimes happens if I am in a restaurant and pass a table full of LEO's on my way to the restroom. LOL

Talking to each other here is good, but taking action is better.
