    Hello everyone!

My name is Jason and I am 25 years old from the St.Louis area. (Go Cardinals!) I am new to the forums but as of late I have been reading and soaking up some useful information from here. I am new to concealed carry and just thought I would make my self a part of the community here. I have been around firearms my whole life but was never really all that interested in them. The past 2 or 3 years I have became more and more interested and have purchased a couple of my own. Other than the "hand me downs" from my grandpa when he passed, I hadn't owned any of my own firearms. I love shooting and really anything that has to do with guns ( new or old ), but more importantly... I love my family. Just a few weeks ago I decided to make a purchase. After test driving some handguns at the local range, I went with the Glock 19. I absolutely LOVE this gun and it will be my EDC. I take my CCW class this coming Saturday and I couldn't be more exited. I feel like its the first day of school all over again! Anyways, I am sorry for rambling but just thought I would try and give a little background about me. I look forward to mixing it up here and learning from some of my fellow "defensive carriers" and 2A supporters.

Hi Jason / Jasonk88s! Welcome to the forum from Texas. This is a great place to learn and to share! I carry a 3rd Gen Glock 30 SF. You've made a great choice for your EDC and congrats on deciding early in your life to defend yourself and your loved ones.

    Jason,
Just having some good old fun with the members

playing on the human thought process... ie
A Chevrolet is better than a Ford
A Mercedes is better than a BMW
A Beretta is better than a Glock

    BTW I am a Mercedes / Chevy / Beretta fan ;-)

MOST handguns are pretty good to excellent. There are a few to watch for, or a few that need extra TLC to remain reliable.
MOST well known brands are great.
It is what feels best to YOU, and what you trust that counts more than the name stamped on the weapon.

I like the way you put it. I tried out quite a few different handguns and the Glock just felt right. I would have to say that the next in line would be the XD9.

BTW I am a Chevy / Mercedes / Glock fan... 2 out of 3 aint bad. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome from Wisconsin, Jason! There are two types of people on this earth - those that love Glocks & those that hate them. I'm in the middle I guess. I had two Glocks, a G23 & a G21 but gave them to my LEO son before we had a concealed carry law & after I retired from armed security & had no need for them. . Now I have M&Ps. The main reason is a recommendation from my son who loves his issue M&P40 & the second reason is I can get a much better deal on M&Ps from a police supply store which no longer carries Glocks.

Glock makes a fine handgun as does S&W. I like the grip worlds better on the M&Ps but shoot either just as good.
