    Just getting goin' on Oklahoma..

Going to the CC class this week. Only have a 38 special right now to stick in my purse. Looking for ideas for a different hand gun and so far I've seen several. Great site, glad I found it.

    Welcome from AZ ..

If you do purse carry try to get a purse made for carrying a gun.. Dont just stick it in there ..... Most any heavy trigger pull dao gun would be good for this ( j frame s&w / bpdyguard 380 / lcp/p3at ) or a compact gun with a good manual saftey ( bretta tomcat etc)

As always two great sites for the first time female carrier

Welcome to the forum. There is nothing wrong with a .38 special. That is what I started with and it was my only gun - for range and carry both for at least several months. Learn to shoot it properly and it WILL do the job!

I now own a few more guns.......but it's been a lot of years.

Welcome from Memphis. Listen to Shooter Granny and the other ladies on the forum. They are wise beyond their years. (No snide remarks about their age, guys.)

I'm in oklahoma too and will take my class on Saturday. The instructor is also my lawyer (small town). He told me it would be better to qualify with a semi auto so I can then carry anything. Took a long time to find the right one ...a sig p238.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of helpful knowledge and experience on a variety of subjects here.

Most of us gun aficionados have tried a variety of options in search of the "perfect" carry solution. We find lots of "good" choices in the never ending quest.

No need to worry about the 38 caliber revolver doing what it is designed to do. After yielding to the siren call of the semi-auto sea nymph, many of us are returning to the faithful revolver.

Welcome aboard from Orygun! My wife often carries her S&W 640 Centennial .357 magnum in her purse. It is a Coronado Leather purse with a separate quick access compartment for the gun.
I carry a gun, because a Cop is too heavy.
