I've loved guns for as long as I can remember. When I was about 10 years old, my brothers (with my parents' knowledge) taught me and my sister next up from me in age how to handle and respect firearms. We used to go out in our field in New Hampshire, shooting at targets.
I was a Police Explorer for the Port of Seattle in 1979 (I was a senior in high school), and we got to go to the King County Police firing range, shooting their .38s. We had to shoot from the ground, around poles, strong hand, weak hand... it was a BLAST! I did best of all the girls, and third best overall (there were about 15 of us).
I've had my heart set on a Ruger GP-100, but for CCW purposes I may opt for an SP-101. I've got big hands for a woman, but a guy showing me this revolver said there are grip adaptors (which I've already found on the Ruger site), so I'm going to go that route. I was happy to find this site, when I searched on shoulder holsters for the SP-101. Can't wait to look around the place!
I don't have my CCW permit or gun, yet, but I'm going to soon.

Welcome from an Eastern Washingtonian. WA permits are one of the easiest to get if your record is clean. The SP101 is my personal choice and is a good carry gun if you don't mind the weight.
Now, get down to the SPD office and get that paperwork filled out to start your 30 day wait. You don't need to have your gun before you get the permit handled.
