    The Real Wild, Wild West

I severed 15 years (1968-1983), actually drafted in December 1968 and Honorably Discharged in June 1983. I was injured during a "Training Exercise" somewhere in the world we live, however ended up in Landstuhl, Germany Army Medical Center for 9 months. In June 1983, the day I was discharged I headed home wondering what will I do now.

Upon returning home I had a half dozen messages from different places of employment when the phone rang again, answering was a gentleman offering a position of employment and all he wanted was a chance to meet me in this 3rd class motel outside of town. I finally agreed to meet the next day day at 1300 hours, As I was getting dressed ready to go I decided to to slip the old Colt 1911A1 in my concealed center of the back holster. I arrived about 30 minute early just to see who was entering this room I was going to. At 1300 hours I knocked on the door and a sharply dressed man answered and introduced himself and he was working for the DOD, we talked for about an hour and told me he would call me after making sure if we could work together or not.

Next day he called and told me I have a non-negotiable proposal for me. He said we want you and your background of information and that I knew Russian. He offered $34K dollars with full benefits and my fist assignment was in Florida with NASA before sending me to Pacific Missile test Center, Point Mugu, CA as an Electronic Surveillance Engineer. I had two degrees one in Electronic Engineering and Design of Cameras, the second was in Criminology, I was working on my third degree in Business Law. Once I was finished signing in at Point Mugu I work in Research and Development. On September 30, 1996 I was permanently retired by Office of Workman's Compensation for life, as I was re-injured because of a Safety Violation. Between OWCP and SSDI and as 100% VA Disabled Veteran I s okay, but I can never work again.

The Real Wild Wild West I live in Arizona and AI love living here where I can Stand Your Ground and carry a firearm all the time

Sorry to hear about the disabled status, but it sounds like you have been through a lot.

Look forward to hearing from that experience.
