Hey Y'all, Son of Thunder here and from Georgia. Retired LEO and have been totin for all my adult life and even before. I grew up in an age where the boys and lots of girls had pocket knives on their person (or purse) AT school, during school and all all functions and NOBODY cared. In 12 years of school there was never a stabbing, shooting or even an accident involving the mishandling of a knife. Heck lots of us boys had guns in the cars and trucks and NOBODY cared.

Hello and welcome from N. Alabama. I also remember those times. Some of the best hunting experiences I had were either before or just after school. There wasn't a truck in the lot without a rack and guns.

Welcome from Pennsyl-tucky..
Yep when I was in school back in them 70's it was not uncommon during hunting season to wear hunting gear to school when you got there late from a morning hunt and disappear early along with having firearms in the car just outside the door.
If some kid said he was going to walk in and kill folks he would have been turned in or beat down.

Back in the early 60's when my Boy Scout Troop would meet at the school. I could wear my uniform to school that day. Which included an Official BSA pocket knife that hung from my belt on a clip.............. NO ONE FREAKED OUT BACK THEN !
