I found this site a few days ago from a post on another forum that I frequent, opencarry.org. I haven't spent much time here yet, but from what I've seen so far, I will be a frequent reader and will likely write an occasional post.
I currently live in the Richmond, Virginia area, although my wife and I hope to retire to our piece of dirt in southeastern Wyoming some time in the next five to seven years. I'm in my mid-30's, and I've been shooting since I was a child. I've carried regularly for many, many years.
My carry choice is a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan, currently loaded with 300gr Speer Gold Dots. I have also used the 300gr Hornady XTPs, and am equally pleased with both. I carry it in a black leather thumb break OWB holster made by Sunrise Leather in Florida - great craftsmanship, by the way. It's a bit bulky, and a little on the heavy side (45oz empty weight), but my Bianchi model 7202 1.75" belt keeps it in place quite nicely. Depending on where I'm going, sometimes I will carry two speed loaders also. My backup is my G20 carried weak side OWB in a Blackhawk CQC holster, loaded with 180gr Speer Gold Dots from Buffalo Bore. Obviously, this setup is a bit challenging to conceal, especially without printing, but with Open Carry legal with few restrictions in the states I frequent (VA, NC, WY), it isn't really an issue. Whether I'm carrying concealed or openly normally depends on the weather and my choice of clothing.
I have a strong side CQC holster for the G20 as well, and sometimes I will carry it as my primary, backed up by my S&W 340PD (170gr JHC by Buffalo Bore) either in a pocket holster on my ankle, depending on what pants I'm wearing.
When Concealed Carry w/o printing is absolutely required, or is deemed the prudent choice, I will carry either my G36 (230gr Hornady TAP) or my Taurus 617. For deep CC, the obvious choice is the S&W 340 in a Galco Ankle Glove.
Oh, I almost forgot. When I'm working outside around the house, my choice is H&K USP45 Tactical in a Safariland 6004 thigh rig - it keeps the neighbors guessing.
This is me. Hello, all!

Wow, I'm REALLY impressed!! Since we can only carry concealed in Florida, I carry my Raven .25 in an Uncle Mike's Sidekick size 1 IWB. For pocket carry, I use a Logitech mouse carrier for my Phoenix .22 HP22A.

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee!
WOW. Retire before you are 40? I need to know what you do for a living and have you teach me how to do it.
Enjoy the board. Lots of good info on here and everyone is pretty easy going.
