New in SE Michigan
Hello all, I just joined this site to basically do some research and get some information about various concealed carry methods, tactics, equipment, etc. I will be recieving my CPL before too long (just as soon as I turn 21 on the 28th) and want to get started off on the right foot. I've been around firearms for longer than I can remember and have been shooting regularly for a couple of years and infrequently since I was old enough to carry a .22 rifle. I'm looking forward to being on this site and learning whatever I can to better protect myself and my loved ones.
Cheers!

Although I don't own any handguns yet (my dad is the registered owner and keeps them) I have been shooting a Taurus PT99 9mm, S&W Model 66 .357, Ruger Redhawk .44, Sistema Colt .45, and a Walther P22 for a while and will be buying these guns from my dad on my birthday and having their registrations transferred to me. I also have a Mossberg 500, Yugo SKS, Remington 700 in .30-06, Remington 760 in .300 Savage, Ruger 10/22 and a Savage .22 single-shot bolt action in my gunlocker. I'm looking to add the Taurus PT145 to my collection as a main carry gun, although I'm big enough to conceal all of the above handguns successfully in the winter (even the Redhawk), I'd like to add something to my arsenal that can be carried year-round without too much hassle and still packs a good punch (10+1 of .45 ACP).

I like the XD but, being a broke college student, I like the lower price point of the Taurus. I've read good things about it and have been satisfied so far with Taurus. I've put about 800 rounds through the PT99 without a single failure of any sort.
