Came across the site while doing research on concealed weapons. I'm in the first 1/4 of the 120 day waiting peroid for my permit so I'm learning as much as possible. I'm a member at a few other boards and look forward to learning/participating here. I've recently joined a gun range and make an effort to go at least twice a month. I'm communicating with an NRA instructor about some classes for me and the wife. She's 8 months pregnant right now so it'll probably be at least summer before that happens since we want to do it together. I've handled guns most of my life. I've had a star 9mm, charter arms .38, and .380. As far as rifles/shotguns go I've got an old .410 (H&K I think, it's close to 30 years old currenly in use by my father), a remington 1100 12g, marlin .35, winchester .22.
My reasoning for wanting to carry concealed is
1.) Protect my family.
2.) Protect myself.
My current handguns are
1.) Ruger P90
2.) Glock 17 - home defense. This gun stays home unless at range.
3.) Glock 23 - will be my primary carry.
I will be adding another gun as a carry weapon although I'm unsure what at this point.
Glad I found the site!

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but...MS loves to take the FULL 120 days to get you your CCW. Mine arrived on day 120...to the day. The folks at MHP were very nice and courteous, but once it is in the system, it is going to stall for 3 months. Hang in there!
