    FEG P9R 9mm

Timbo introduced me to this site and got me interesting in owning a home defense gun (one really suited for the job). Can't carry in Ill but I just picked up a beautiful FEG P9R 9mm with 3x 14 round clips and 1x10 round clip ($200.00) from my local dealer. I just spent 2 hrs cleaning it and learning my way around it. He made me the deal because he had it for awhile but it wasn't a high velocity model?? I didn't understand what he meant?? It is chambered for 9mm Lugar Parabellum rounds.

Anybody know what the "high Velocity" is all about, or had experience with this Pistol?

    Thanks, Bob

    Greetings

True it is for std pressure 9mm and not +P - that is what he meant. I have had one for quite some time - bit of a ''filler'' until I got my BHP Practical. In essence it is a great gun in as much as it is a very very close BHP clone. My only reservation is with regard to very high ammo thruput - as I feel the gun is metallurgically inferior to the real deal.

That said, mine has had several 100 rounds thru and is fine but - not sure I'd want to hammer it into many 1,000's. It is IMO good value and a good start with the BHP type platform. feels same - shoots same - just that query on strength long term. I think my model is basically same deal.

Good job on the pistol. Another one of John Moses Browning's superior designs.
