I'm a single 44 year old ex cop here in Maine. I got decompression illness "ie. the bends" while commercial diving here 12 years ago, and it changed my life. I'm doing much better these days, but am out of law enforcement and advanced life support EMS.
These days I am the caretaker for a couple of summer estates, with usually no nights or weekends. I'm a Registered Maine Guide and spend most of my free time in the outdoors doing one thing or another. Canoeing, camping, hiking, hunting, and shooting take up a lot of my time. I'm a member of the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club (moac.org), and am always doing one trip or another, when I'm not spending time with my kids. Say hello, and if you're in Maine, look up MOAC.org.

Welcome to the forum Dan!
Beautiful island you live on! I had the chance to sail into Somes Sound once when I was a deck hand aboard the Victory Chimes, the three masted schooner on the Maine quarter. I worked in ME for one “season” April to October but I will never forget sailing up the fiord then spending the night anchored out in Southwest Harbor. My days on Penobscot Bay are experiences I will treasure forever.
