Hello Everybody!

I just recently purchased a s&w .38 special and would like to get my permit here in ND. I am sure this question has been addressed before, but do you know what type of charges other than felonies disqualify you from getting a permit???? I am not a felon for obvious reasons and I am currently in the military. I spoke with the local police department about the background checks and she stated that it has to be a "serious offense such as a felony but that is not always the case. If there is anybody that would like to chime in that would be greatly appreciated

Procedurally everything you need to know should be there.

All that it states concerning reasons why you might be denied...as follows:

> Reasons a Permit Might be Denied

> Any material misstatement made in the application process by the applicant.

> The applicant is prohibited by state or federal law from owning, possessing, or having a firearm under that person's control.

> For any other good and valid cause as determined by the Chief Agent of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and subject to review. (This section will not be used arbitrarily to deny or revoke a permit.)
