I'm from that hotbed of armed criminal intent and home of chaotic mayhem--Iowa. I've been carrying for 10 years--starting out with a truly suck-water S&W auto, graduating to (ewww) a Taurus...After a short time that found a new home and I went to Beretta, then to HK. What a difference!
As the name implies, I am an HK fan (gotta love that brutal german engineering). I give equal nod to GLOCK, which I use in IDPA and USPSA Limited competition. Nothing other than combat reveals the shortcomings of a design better than a good USPSA match.
I did the better part of a decade in the USMC, all spent driving tanks and Amtracs. When the 1911 guys start using phrases like "Big Bore", I get a little private chuckle. In my world, that's 105mm or better...<g>
Thanks guys! I hope to be seeing more of ya.
