Hello from Arkansas. I am an electronics technician and fully excersize the rights granted me as a human being, numerated by the Bill of Rights. I enjoy shooting, cleaning, refinishing (grips mostly and occasional stainless polishing) and learning more about guns and self defense.

    Welcome from Alabama.

I don't want to be a nitpicker, but you might want to reconsider the phrase "the rights granted me by the Second Amendment". The Second Amendment actual assumes the right already exists and is present to protect it. Look at the wording.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
By saying "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms" the framers are acknowledging a pre-existing right. By "shall not be infringed" they secure that right. Governments can only grant privileges. Rights exist whether the government says anything about it or not. Privileges can be withdrawn. Rights can only be usurped.

Why am I mentioning this? Because at the present time anti-gun organizations are using the argument that the Second Amendment does not grant the right to bear arms to the people but to the militia. We tend to fight against that by attempting to prove that the right belongs to the people. While the right does belong to the people, not fighting against the idea that the right is granted is, in my opinion, leaving the door open for the anti-gun groups to use our silence as an indication of agreement. We will be hard pressed to proof our contention that the Second Amendment does not grant the right, but merely recognizes it, if we have not used the opportunities we had to express just that.

Sorry for the rant. I have just seen this kind of statement made too many times recently. This is not intended as a swipe at you. You have just provided the impetus for me to make the comment. We all tend to imprecise in our expression and all too often this imprecision comes back to haunt us.

    You truly are welcome here.
