    Hello from Minnesota

    Hello. I'm a 31 year old guy from the Minneapolis area, and I've been lurking and reading for the last few weeks. I have to say, I really like this site, and I've already learned a lot from the posts and stories I've read.

    I've always enjoyed target shooting, and had planned to buy a pistol, but just never got around to it. That changed in a hurry, though, when a guy followed my girlfriend (6 months pregnant at the time) back up to our apartment, while I was at work, and knocked on the door for 15 minutes when she wouldn't answer (he turned out to be a mentally slow guy who was harmless, but it was still a huge eye opener). I got her some pepper spray and one of those aerosol air horns, but it made me realize just how little the average person thinks about self defense.

    I purchased a Springfield XD45 Bi-tone 4" service, a few months ago, and have around 500 rounds through it so far. I'm taking my CCW class on Saturday. I'm also planning on picking up a 1911 of some sort next year (always wanted one).

    I took my girlfriend to the range, not long after our son was born (he's a month old now), to show her the basics; she did really well with the XD.

    Anyway, hello again, and I'm glad to be a part of DC.
