Glad to have you aboard, even if it is due to dubious circumstances.
Hope all goes well up in your neck of the woods.

Hi everyone. I just joined this forum today. You may not care, but here's the story of why I'm here...
I grew up here in Vermont and have been around guns my entire life. My dad is a collector and has close to 100 assorted firearms. But I've never owned any, I just used my dad's for hunting and target practice. Recently I moved to a new house in the country. The past few weeks around midnight or later there has been banging on my garage, my doorbell has been rung. My brother that lives nearby had his tools stolen from his worktruck in his driveway a week after this started.
So I went out and bought my very first gun. It's a Smith & Wesson 4506. I put Hogue cushioned grips on it, and it feels awesome in the hand now. I have it loaded with Winchester personal defense rounds, and I'm now ready if whoever has been banging around gets up the courage and decides to bust in.
I've done a ton of research the past few weeks on different aspects of firearms, because it's been so long since I've used one. From stances, to laws, to ammunition. I'm working on getting some Winchester Ranger T-series ammo. That's what led me here. This place has so much information, I decided to join and introduce myself.

Thanks for the welcome! This place seems great. I've been going through the different sections checking it out.
Personally, I don't CC right now. But I'm getting a Bianchi shoulder holster, and may start. The cool thing is Vermont doesn't require a permit for CC. You can open carry or concealed carry without a license. If you can legally own a gun you can carry. And there's no waiting period to buy a gun. What a great state. :)
