Hello from VA!
Hello all,
I'm 23, and considering applying for my CCW permit. I'm a Virginia resident, a gun owner (mostly rifles/shotguns), hunter, and have been contemplating getting my CCW since my 21st birthday.
I decided to register to get some help and guidance in my decision, obviously it is one that only I can make but I like seeing other's opinions as well.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Go ahead and get your permit, at least that way, you can carry concealed if you so desire. If you're all ready thinking about getting it, what are your reasons for wanting it as opposed to your reasons of not getting it?
I'm betting your reasons to get it, will out weigh the reasons to not get it.

Thanks for the welcome.
I was about to make a new post (i've been searching for something on this topic and have not found it yet, and figure more people frequent the other forums) but I will answer here too...
My concerns are that...I've been alive for 23 years, not once in those 23 years have I needed to carry. I realize that it's better to have and not need, than need and not have -- but I'm worried about how much I actually would be able to carry on my person throughout a typical day.
I work in a gov't contractor site, and I'm not sure of the laws at the moment, but I believe that firearms are not allowed on the premises. Meaning I'd need to leave my firearm in my car, which I'm not a fan of since it is easy to break into a car.
So my biggest concern is pretty much...not being able to carry it the majority of the day.
I think im going to head into the other section of the forum and start a new discussion about it, and see if others have had similar issues :)

Welcome to the forum.
Couldn't hurt to go ahead and get the permit and at least have it. Even if you can't carry at your work site and decide not to leave it in the car (I'm with you there), you can have it for other places.
