Hi. I've had my CC permit for about 18 months now, and carry whenever I'm out and about (not allowed at work, but otherwise..), or at home. I have a KT PF9, Glock 27, and Taurus 357 that serve my conceal requirements. But I could always "need" another one.
It took me about four months after my CC class to really decide that I DID want to take this responsibility on, and that I would do my best to do it right. If things work out, I'll never need to draw a weapon. If they don't, I plan to be ready.
My wife doesn't "get" the CC mindset. I say it's like having home insurance, but not planning on your house burning down. The old, "Better to have a gun and not need it than....." applies, but I guess we're lucky never to have been crime victims. But I won't be getting complacent and assume that will always be the case.
Anyway, I'm hoping to learn a lot from the folks here that have been CC'ing longer than I. Like the man said, "Share what you know, learn what you don't know." Or something to that effect.
