Long time shooter, new to forum
BIG 1911 fan - own three. Need to in a tough neighborhood like New Orleans. However, we do have the toughest car hijacker law in the Country. Law states that a person in an automobile has the right to shoot ANYONE, no questions asked, who approaches AND puts their hand on the vehicle (a weapon need not be seen or carried by the individual).
This law was put into effect after a lady attempted to drive off after being approached by an individual demanding her vehicle. She had two small children in the car and was not about to turn over her car to this thug. Unfortunately he fired at the car as she was leaving killing her 11 month son who was in a child seat in the rear.
This did put an end to the windsheild cleaners approaching vehicles at traffic signals.
Good luck to all!!!

Welcome from Alabama. I lived in NO from 1981 to 1995 and the window washers were one of the things that irritated me the most about living there. They acted like they owned the street. I did find that taking my right hand off the steering wheel and placing it down by my right hip combined with staring right into their eyes worked wonders. They never came over and sprayed my windshield. There was no way for them to know whether I had just put my hand on a firearm or not.
