Over the years I've had the opportunity to be a member of a number of various lists. I don't think I've ever been welcomed with such genuineness. It's both refreshing and appreciated.

It brings to mind stereotypes and myths. Our countries have a great deal in common. But we've drifted apart over the years. We didn't hang on to the values that are crucial to a good life. In some ways Canada is where the US is headed. Hang on to your values. The alternative is to live in a country where the ACLU tells you how to live. There are a lot of great things about Canada but its current morals and ethics are not among them.

Okay off the soapbox. I don't know if this is the right thread for this but is there such a thing as a dictionary of shooting terms?

    Thanks.

Thanks. This will come in handy. Unfortunately the word I was looking for, printing, is not included. I gather from context that printing is the degree to which the pistol is revealed under the clothing.

Yes "Printing" is the outline of the gun being visible under your clothing.

I dunno. You're the second one on here who has taken a Canadian as a bride. I beginning to get a little suspicious. It can't be coincidence that both of them have taken up residence in southern states where there is little chance of having to shovel snow! :)

Just wait until you are down South and see the panic when there is snow flurries. Not snow mind you just a very slight powdering.

It still blows my wifes' mind about how people down here freak out about snow and ice. Of course it all melts by the afternoon anyway.

C'Mon down alien. We'd be glad to have you. And welcome to DC.

There are a couple of us here with GFLs so don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have when it becomes time to apply for your carry license.

I can imagine. The reverse is also true. Many years ago I worked part time in a gas station/convenience store. In September, it's not unusual for us to get a light dusting of snow and like yours it is gone almost as soon as it lands. I happened to be working on day just after we had had one of those dustings and this guy comes tearing into the store with this terrified look on his face. I've never seen anyone so scared in my life. He ran up and down the aisles grabbing anything and everything even remotely related to winter. He had booster cables (jumper cables to you, I think), antifreeze, a window scaper etc etc

It seems he had arrived in late spring, when all the snow had disappeared, from Nigeria and all summer his supposed friends had filled him with horror stories of how bad winter can be. I didn't have the heart to tell him that this really wasn't it.

GFL = Georgia Firearm License. It's the proper name for a carry license down here.

And when you get a change, please support GCO, the premier 2A group in Georgia fighting for our rights.
