CCW Collector
I once read a thread on some forum about how one of the best ways to get through to people is to hit them in the wallet.
This thread was on a gun forum, and the poster was talking about how getting CCW permits from all states possible was his way of protesting the CCW-unfriendly laws of his state. I am from California, and therefore subject to the same unfriendly laws in regards to getting a permit.
So, I too am protesting all the hoops (some as small as a Life Saver) that us California folks have to jump through to get a permit, by paying all the other states for theirs. I got my Florida one about 6 years ago, and I'm working on getting my Utah one. I'm also getting the Washington State permit this weekend, even though Utah covers non-resident carry in Washington. I travel frequently and have carried legally in a couple of states, and I'd like carry in a few more. I would also like the powers-that-be in California to see how much revenue these states pull in from issuing these permits, that all the other neighboring states are getting. Hittin them in the wallet!
I'm also an avid shooter, a former rangemaster, and I'm a car guy...cars and guns just seem to go hand-in-hand.
If yall have any questions about crazy laws/myths about what we deal with in California (cars or guns), I'll be glad to answer them!

Thanks for the welcome!
retsupt99, I did my baptism by fire doing my first CCW in Jacksonville!
And I do mean fire, man it was REALLY hot out there. Carrying publicly for the first time didn't stop the sweating either, it must be way hotter around the central area.

I have been told during AOJ class that there are only about 2,000 non-law enforcement CCW permits issued in California. With the liberals taking over the state, please do not hold your breath waiting to get one.

The numbers sound right, the difference is the county you reside in. More rural counties tend to lean more towards shall-issue, like Mendocino, Sierra, Kern....but the urban counties like San Mateo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, are more discretionary (read: for the rich and connected) issue.
A city PD can issue CCW's but usually defer to the Sheriff, so there's hope for those in counties with small populations that are spread out. But i'm deep in urbanite-crap

Welcome from South Carolina.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
