Cool Looking for a new hand gun

    Hello,

I have been a hunter all my life and recently went to a hand gun range and shot a glock 17.....very nice. I am now looking for a good hand gun. The 9mm glock was very accurate and easy to shoot, but I am not sure it is the right gun for me. I have looked at a bereta 9mm and it fits my hand well, but I have not shot one. I also want to buy a gun that my fiancee could shoot as well if she had to. I could use some advice.

I mostly shoot a shotgun(12gauge) or a 270 or 30 augh 6. Our hunting club fell through this year so I am also looking for a new place to deer hunt.

Borrow or rent all the guns you can to find one that fits. Rarely will a man and woman agree on the same one, so be prepared to buy two. The Glock and Beretta are apples and oranges. Virtually nothing in common except the caliber. You need to find out the type of pistol right for you. Some have safeties, some are plastic, some are steel, some are aluminum...
Cost can be a major factor. As a rule in my book, you DO get what you pay for. If you're looking for something affordable that most likely you both can shoot, check out a Glock 19.

What will the handgun be used for? Search recent thread "beretta 92fs"....some good points made that may sway you to look at some other options. 9mm is a great caliber to start with....and stay with (have a dancing banana, .45 guys!)

DISCLAIMER: Let it be known I also enjoy the .45 cartridge
