After reading some recent posts I see the question of "what gun to get" is always at the top of the list. As a firearms instructor & former FFL dealer I've been asked this same question many times. Of course it's somewhat like what color car u should buy, a personal matter BUT having packed around a handgun for decades I can say that FOR ME it has to be convenient or I just won't fool w/ it regularly. I've carried several .45s, revolvers, 9mms etc. but they all tend to be bulky & make my pants want to fall off. As the old story goes, the .22 (or .380) in ur pocket is worth more than the .44 at home. I wore out a Walther TPH & went to a KelTec P3AT. It's a mean little gun to shoot & needs the proper care to function 100% (lub it up!) but it's always there.
Thru the yrs I've had a few occasions to actually need a handgun but just having one has so far resolved the issues with out needing to fire a shot. These big expensive rigs may seem cool but they're worthless if u don't have it when u need it. Good luck to all.

And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.
