I decided it was finally time to write up this intro post since I have been lurking for around a month. There is a ton of information on this site. Anyway, I am a Florida transplant now residing in Kentucky. I grew up around guns and have stayed a regular rifle and shotgun shooter but avoided handguns in recent years since the wife was uncomfortable with having them around young kids. Between the kids being old enough and the recent political results (more the later I think) she has agreed that it is time for us to pick up a handgun and for me to get my CCW (I am working on her getting one as well). I have been doing my research and as of Friday I have a Taurus PT1911. I am planning on taking the CCW course as soon as I am ready (probably after the first of the year).
