New Member station in CA from NY
I just joined the forum so I figured I would post a little introduction about my self. Im a 22 y/o Marine stationed in SoCal but from and legally a resident of NY. After a year and a half wait I just got my NY CCW permit. Although I haven't actually carried yet since I haven't been to NY since it was issued. Thats about to change because I am going home to Rochester, NY tomorrow for the holidays. Pretty much everything I know about shooting I learned from the Marine Corps. I noticed that I consistently shoot high expert on both the rifle and pistol when it comes time to qualify on firearms, so i guess its something I am just naturally good at. I am looking forward to start getting more into shooting in my off time, specifically competition shooting. In a few months I am going to try and get the Utah and Florida non resident CCW. I do not know if I am eligible for it but if anyone has in info on getting a CA CCW, specifically San Diego county let me know. Keep in mind I am not a CA resident just military stationed here. Thanks and look forward to being part of the forum.

Welcome from South Carolina. Thanks for your service.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Welcome from Michigan, and thanks for your service!
For CA CCW stuff, check this site and these sites here and here.
On resident status, I think being military and stationed there gives you a unique dual State residency (not sure on that, but I bet those two sites can help you sort out ypur chances).
If CA became a Shall Issue State, I'd move thee in a heart beat!

We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!
