I don't even own a gun yet
Katrina really open my eyes. I have never witness civil unrest like that. Since then I have done all that I can to help prepare my family for any crisis that would effect my area. Part of my preparedness goals is owning a gun. My wife however was never open to it. I began to do my own research on everything guns to see if her fears were correct. I have read many statistics and still none have wavered my belief that a gun is a great self defense tool. Why am I on a conceal and carry site? good question. My wife finally came around and authorize a purchase of one gun. So now I need one gun that will help me when all hell breaks loose, home protection, and personal protection. After years of research and months of renting guns, I have narrowed my selection to the springfield armory line. I am looking at the xdsubcompact, xd 9, and the 1911 emp. I am now on this forum to research the best way to conceal and carry. Thank you for your time.

The XD9 is very concealable and with 16+1 capacity with a decent SD load should fit the bill

Agreed. My main carry pistols are my XD-45, XD-40, and a Glock 19. The XD is a great pistol because it has great ergonomics, reliable, accurate, and the trigger pull is good also.
