    New guy from central TX

    I'm taking the TX CHL class on Jan. 31. I have a Springfield XDm-9 that I plan on carrying. If money would allow I would have a Kimber CDP II, but money doesn't allow right now I've been lurking here for a few months and decided to join up. Lots of good reading here.

    Our house is about 30 miles east of the main gate, but only 10 miles or so from the eastern edge of the base. When they are doing some heavy artillery sessions it sounds like a thunderstorm - BOOM..BOOM..BOOM! Oddly enough, it is comforting.
