What kind of gun are you going to buy?
Right now I am waiting on the the judge to sign my ticket for a Walther P22. I love shooting .22's. I am looking at a PPS as a carry gun as well as a .44 (possibly a Taurus, not really sure yet) for when my girlfriend and I are out in the woods.

It is totally un American. I was told it can take up to 5 weeks before getting a new permit back with the registered gun on it. Then I can go pick it up.

Has it ever taken that long? I was told it would be a couple of days at most unless the judge was out of town. After all the other obstacles to getting my permit here, waiting another couple of days for the judge seems like no big deal. But I do agree that there are certainly a lot of hoops to jump through.
