Hey John - big welcome to the CC forums.

What a pleasure to have one of our finest join in here - and as has been said - you have all the support you can handle from this neck of the woods - be assured on that.

I'll have a dig and see what mags I can find too - give me some time.

Now now, I think all Americans, right or left, are in full support of our troops. We disagree on why they are there. That's all I'm saying about that cause I'm really not trying to go there.

Thank you SGT. Tremblay, for your service that is. And I will see what I can scare up this weekend. There are a bunch of shooters where I work, so I bet I can scare up a decent stack.

While writing this an idea struck me. Book stores typically destroy their unsold periodicals once the new issue comes out. They rip off the front covers to send back for credit from the publisher, but the body of the magazine just gets thrown away.

What if we went to these stores and asked them to donate their unsold stock, minus the covers of course.

    PatrioticRick,

I like reading SWAT, Guns & Weapons For LE, Combat Handguns, American handguner, Handguns, Guns & Ammo, and anything else with 'guns' in it. Beggars can't be choosers. I'd be happy to take whatever it is your throwing away. One mans trash is another mans gold. Any books your fix'in to toss, especially those that involve shooting, self defense, military non-fiction would be also be appreciated.
I've got buddies who are into cars and trucks, so those would also find a home.
    Thank you very much.

This is my second tour. During my first trip (OIF-1) in 2003-2004 things were a lot different. The Army has made great strides to improve the quality of life here. I am very thankful for that.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
    Take care,
    John

    John,
    Welcome and thanks for everything.
Let your fellow guys and gals know we do support them and are so proud.
I wish I could rejoin, but to old.
while dirt is your friend, just keep it out of the weapons.

    You might find this funny, the headline from the Stars And Stripes news paper for 1 Feb 06;

Poll: Half of Iraqis favor attacks on US Troops.

    Oh well. Can't please everybody.
    Take care,
    John
this is upsetting. S&S should be supporting the troops. When did they become so left wing?
