New Member, pending CWP
Was finally able to schedule a CWP class recently. I had been planning on getting a CWP for a while. I work out of town (on a river towboat) for weeks at a time. My wife was not to interested in shooting/self defense until a couple of weeks before the class as we had a daytime break-in nearby. When the home owner returned she was ruffed up by 4 thugs and they were on the lose for a while. My wife asked that I show her how to use my revolver (SW 647 J frame). I recommended joining me at the CWP class.
She had shot a handgun only a couple times before and at the class she rented a revolver from the instructor. She shot a 4" SW revolver and had a big time. She qualified with no problem and is also waiting on her permit.
Later at home she shot 5 rounds though my 637 and did well although she was surprised at the recoil. She wants me to find a bigger gun such as the 4" revolver to practice but fully intends on carrying the J frame with the crimson lazer sights! I will be building a proper pistol range on my property this spring. Hope I can find ammo! I'm also researching/reading what I can to reload.
Since she took over my revolver I had to go get another! I bought a SW 442. Things are good!

Welcome to DC from SC. Enjoy!!!
I just received mine in the mail last Friday. SLED isnt that far behind and are doing a good job of getting them out IMO.
Both mine and the wife's permits arrived in the mail exactly 91 days from the day they cashed the check.
Good luck to you.
