Newbie here from Arkansas

Hey, guys, Nathan here from Jonesboro Arkansas. Looking forward to learning alot here about concealed carry and RKBA. I've been a gun owner for a while for hunting purposes, but I'm new to the RKBA aspect of it. Bought my first wheelgun last summer, a S&W 686 .357 mag with a 6in barrell, and my first semi-auto, a Ruger P89T 9mm in December. I also just completed my CHL class and am playing the waiting game on getting my license now. I'm 24, married with 2 kids (2yr and 10yrs old, 10yr olds my step, just in case you did the math), and in my seinor year at ASU. I'll be graduating this May with a B.S. in Psychology (don't worry, I'm not a wacko liberal, I don't believe every behavior in some way has to do with sex, and no, I'm not analyzing you). I also run a small paint contracting business in between classes. Didn't mean to ramble, but internet anonymity gets on my nerves sometimes. Anyway, nice to meet you guys, and thanks for putting up with me, cause I'll probobly ask some stupid questions, as I'm the first gun nut in my family. Take care - Nathan

Hey guys, thanks for all the replys. I would love to shoot with anyone nearby who would like to. I'll try to make sure all my contact info is on my profile. Feel free to contact me anytime. I usually go shoot on the St. Francis Sunken Lands WMA (near Trumann). There's a gravel parking area on the other side of a levee where alot of people shoot that has a large dirt mound backstop (its on AGFC owned land, down from Stevens Landing if your familiar with the area). I know nothing about membership at gun clubs or ranges, but I would love to get into one as well if its not too incredibly expensive. I want to be as responsible as possible with this and do it right. Where do most of you shoot at, ranges and clubs or just in the woods or the country? -Thanks alot, -Nathan

We have our own gunclub up here in Russellville. Its called the Arkansas River Valley Gunclub. We've got a 40acre range with a pistol range and a 100 and 200 yards rifle range. As of last night, we made a landeal for 80 more acres that surround us. We currently have about 400 members. Dues are 35 $and 40$ a year.

We also do most of the Concealed Weapons Permits up this way.

I also shoot alot in my yard. We're surrounded by Ozark National Forest, and you can shoot anywhere you want to there, as a matter a fact there are two public ranges built by the AG&F within 25 miles, so there are plenty of easily accessable places to shoot.
