    Welcome from South Carolina.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

    Welcome from Montana.

I have been enjoying shooting for just over a year. I started with a SIG 229 9mm and love it. I have small hands and the grip is just right. Since it is relatively cheap to shoot I go to the range often and thought I was getting pretty good. Then a couple weeks ago I took a gun handling and shooting lesson at a local gun shop - major improvement. I didnít know how much I didnít know! Now, most of the holes are in that little orange circle in the center.

I just bought a S/W model 60 with a 2 1/8' barrel for my wife. I love the gun except that being a small frame with a small grip, it rolls back in my hand on recoil, especially with .357's but even a little with 38's, as my bottom finger slips off the rounded grip base. I found a Crimson Trace "LG-305" grip that has a slightly enlarged grip base and the laser to boot. As I couldnít find one locally, I had to order it and am anxious to try it. Anybody have experience with this gun/grip combo?

As I am fairly new to shooting I have much to learn and with all of the forums I see here I should be doing a lot of reading!
First, I am a native to suburbs of Chicago. Round Lake is now considered a suburb of Chicago but is actually closer to Wisconsin.

I'm from Hinsdale/Oakbrook. We used to go to Crystal Lake and Round lake for a day long excursions.

Anyhow, I don't know why you would buy your wife a six shooter known to have a big kick.

I would really like you to try a SIGP250. It can be chambered in 9mm,
    .40, .357 Sig, or .45 ACP.

It is built in several versions. I Prefer blackend Stainless Steel. Night sights are standard.

All of my concealed carry pistols, all are compacts or sub-compacts. For the Sig P250, I recommend the Compact version. It has a double stack 16+1 mag. in 9mm.
If you like Sig's you will really like this one.

Of course there will be some who think the P250 is too new to be proven. That is not true. It has been issued to Blackwater and several others.

    Yes I like a standard 1911 with a 5 inch barrel.

A Sig p250 9mm with HP ammo can do much more damage without reloads any day of the week in the hands of 9 of 10 defensive carry users who would have their choice of 6-7 rounds .45 vs. 16 for the Sig P250 9mm.
