I checked it on the web... The one thing I noticed is you have to buy their ammo or pay a free to shoot your own.

Can you give me insight on this?

I've been using a free outdoor range.

This is true. If you don't buy range ammo they used to charge $5. I heard it went to $10 but haven't been there lately to see it for myself. Last time there they would not sell you ammo to take home (range use only) due to the "shortage" and everything keeps going up+up.

What were they charging for 50 rds of 9mm?

Do you know the reason behind their policy?

    Don't know, I don't have a 9mm.
For general ammo (I use 40S&W, 38sp/357mag) they were about $10 per box of 50 higher than Wal-Mart. So I usually don't get mine at the range. I do buy premium personal protection ammo there as a gun store is the only place I've found such a thing in this area.

The reason given for the range charge if not buying their range ammo was that "we have to pay for the range somehow". Shooting fee is $10 if you're not a member. Not bad at all. I don't get to shoot often so membership was not economical for me. That and the cost of ammo in general if you go often.

To be fair, the county did give them a fit during construction and inspection and that place cost them a bundle. The county did not want that range to open up!
